Vietnam War Diary Of A Rock Band by Leon Isackson
This is the memoir of Australian drummer from Dig Richards and the R'Jays, The Rajahs and The Mighty Guys Leon Isackson and in this book he talks about performing in Vietnam in 1965 with Lucky Starr and 1966 with his band the Rajahs as well as Sheryl Blake and Lucky Starr and 1968 with Eden Kane, Maggie Jordrell and the Sullivan Sisters, performing for the troops as well as the culture, mentioning other Australian performers working in Vietnam including the Delltones, Dig Richards and Johnny O'Keefe and many others. It is FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT and SUPERB as well as very funny, very entertaining, very impressive and FANTASTIC stories and talking about the experiences of working in Vietnam as well as the atmosphere of that time and it is great to see someone from the early days of Australian rock telling these stories as Leon co-wrote Behind the Rock with Jon Hayton in 1990 which was updated by Leon in 2010 as Behind the Rock and Beyond as well as Brothers In Exile about his ancestry and Brothers In War and also in this book it has great photos and memorabilia which looks great. This is must for Australian music fans of the 50's and 60's and I give it 5 stars as you have to go to Amazon.com.au so do yourselves a favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.
