Happy Forever by Mark Volman

This is the memoir of singer and member of legendary American group The Turtles Mark Volman and in this book talks about his upbringing in Los Angeles, played in the school band, played in the Crossfires, formed the Turtles who would achieve great success with hits including it Ain't Me Babe, Let Me Be, Happy Together, She'd Rather Be With Me, You Showed Me and many others throughout the 60's, working with Frank Zappa, performing as Flo and Eddie, his 2 marriages, studying in his 40's and it also has contribution from people who have known him over the years from bandmates from the Turtles, his family, Dean Torrence(Jan and Dean), Richie Furay(Buffalo Springfield/Poco), record producer Tony Visconti, Mickey Dolenz, Danny Hutton (Three Dog Night) and many others. It is FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with FANTASTIC and AWESOME stories as well as very impressive and very entertaining which it is well worth an read telling about the era and the times abd it has forewords from Chris HIllman(The Byrds/Flying Burrito Brothers/Mansassas/Desert Rose Band) and Alice Cooper. Mark Volman who has Lewy Body Dementia recently toured with the Turtles in the Happy Together tour that they do in America every summer and the Turtles put out an lot of great music in the 60's that has stood the test of time and should be inducted ito the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame for the impact they made on rock and roll. This is an must for 60's music fans and I give it 5 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.
