Darren J Ray Band @ CArina Leagues Club

LAst Saturday April 7th I went to Carina Leagues CLub to see the Darren J ray BAnd which it was my second time seeing the Darren J Ray Band as it was my 15th time seeing Darren and also it's my second time seeing Darren live this year. The show started at 7.3opm with the quartet line up which featured Kaitlyn and did 4 FANTASTIC sets doing songs from the 50's,60's,70's,80's up to now and during one of the sets did the chicken dance which i did it by myself and as well in the other set KAitlyn walk through the crowds giving Easter Eggs as well as wearing an hat in one set and the band put on ELvis sideburnsdoing an few ELvis songs as well. During the show Darren did Happy birthday for 2 people Delwyn and MAria and at the show I saw brenda,Bob,scotty,AMber, Kaitlyn and Darren which Amber's baby was with her mother and Garry and Jenny(Scotty's parents) were not there as they were on an cruise trip as Jenny told me on Facebook. the show finished at 11.30pm which it was an FANTASTIC show as Darren always puts on an FANTASTIC show doing great songs of the different eras and Kaitlyn sang great as always as well as Scotty and everyone had an great time even me.Darren will be back at Carina on July 28th with the Fabulous SOunds of the 60's show and I am looking forward to seeing the show there. Peter Flanagan member of legendary Australian singing family group the Fauns aka the The Flanagans passed away on September 2nd aged 73 at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. Peter along with brother Paul and Sister Margaret began as the Fauns in 1959 as they had been doing classical music training which they released 3 singles on the Leedon label- Dance With Me/Don't Take the Stars, We Should Be Together/While Susan Sleeps and Nursery Rhymes Rock and as the Flanagans they released 4 singles on the HMV label-He/Wonderland Of Love and Dreams(1965), Follow the Wind/Land OF Beyond(1965), You Were Meant FOr Me/That's How Man Began(1966) and This is My Song/For Bobby(1967). the group did appearances on Bandstand,Six O'Clock Rock, Teen Time, The Johnny O'Keefe Show, Sing Sing Sing, the Mike Walsh Show, IMT, Revue 61, Revue 62 and many others as well as performing on the Matt Munro TV special in 1966 as well as performing in the clubs too as well as co writing the song...

This is the book about 2 iconic Australian music shows that were on Channel 0 (now Channel 10)back in the 60's The Go Show on August 4th 1964 which lasted for 3 years and 222 episodes until September 17th 1967 and Kommotion hosted by Ken Sparkes was on from December 13th 1965 until September 28th 1967 after 356 episodes and in the book it has the info about both shows as well as episode guides as well the discography of both the Go label and the Kommotion label and the people who worked on Kommotion including Denise Drysdale and Molly Meldrum and many others including some memorabilla and photos of the artists. It is AWESOME, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with FANTASTIC and AWESOME stuff and amazing information about the Go Show which just celebrated 60 years an month ago and Kommotion as well as very impressive and very entertaining which it is well worth an read.
