Van Diemen's Land Russell Morris
Van Diemen's Land is the new album by legendary Australian singer-songwriter Russell Morris. Following the great success with Sharkmouth he comes up with another album with Australian stories which talks about Breaker Morant, sugarcane industry in Queensland, the Gold rush in the 1850's and 1860's, the Eureka Stockade, The Lach Ard and many others and it was recorded at the Little Red Jet Studio. It is a SUPERB and BRILLIANT album with great songs and Russell sings just BRILLIANTLY and sounding great as ever at the age of 65 and this album was produced by Mitch Cairns who also engineered it as well and also among the acts that played on it were Phil Manning of the legendary Australian blues band Chain, Rick Springfield,Rob Hirst of Midnight Oil, Ross Hannaford of Daddy cool. This album has done very well which it has entered the charts at number 4 on the Australian charts and let's hope it can even go to number 1 and it has been an great few years for Russell Morris with the great success with Sharkmouth that went to number 6. It is over 45 years since Russell Morris came on the music scene and is still going strong as well as sounding better as ever and with the great success of the 2 albums which it proves that Australian stories are to be told as well as it does not matter how old you are any artist can come up with a great album that can successful too. This album is a must for Russell Morris fans as well as Australian music fans and I am giving this 5 stars which it is in the shops now so do yourself a FAVOUR and BUY IT.
