A Masters Apprentice Living in the Sixties by Peter Tilbrook
A Master Apprentice Living in The Sixties is the autobiography by Australian musician and member of the legendary Australian rock group Masters Apprentices Peter Tilbrook and in this book he talks about his upbringing in Adelaide, getting his first guitar when he was 12, played in early Adelaide bands like the Avengers, Roger Ball and the Bouncers, the Bentbeaks and the Sounds of Silence, joining the Masters Apprentices in 1967 which he played on Elevator Driver, Bridgette, Four Years Of Five which he co wrote with Jim Keays, Merry Go Round and Linda Linda, Hoadley's Battle of The Sounds, the scene in Adelaide and Melbourne, the touring, the line up changes of the Masters during his time there, the drugs. his leaving the group in 1968 and many many others. It is an AWESOME,BRILLIANT and an SUPERB book with SUPERB stories which they're very entertaining and I loved reading the book very much. It is 50 years when the Masters were formed and are still fondly remembered to this day as it's 1 year since the sad loss of lead singer Jim Keays. This is the 3rd autobiography by an member of the Masters Apprentices as both Jim Keays and Glenn Wheatley wrote their memoirs in 1999 as well as Glenn wrote another in 2010 called Facing the Music which spoke about his time in jail for 15 months and Peter Tilbrook still performs around Adelaide with his group the Party Cats as well as performing with John Bywaters of the legendary Australian group the Twilights in the Twilight Zone and Living In the Sixties show. This book is a must for Masters Apprentices fans as well as fans of Australian 60's music which I give it 5 stars and you can this book online at- www.petertilbrook.com.au so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT.
