Mary Queen Of Scots
Tonight I went to the Balmoral Cinema to see the movie Mary Queen Of Scots. It's 1561 and Mary the Queen of Scotland (Saorise Ronan) returns from France after her husband's death to Scotland to her half brother Earl of Moray's (James McArdle). Meanwhile in England her cousin Elizabeth the Queen Of England(Margot Robbie) is unmarried and unable to produce an heir as well as being threatened by Mary's claim to the throne. John Knox(David Tennant) who is an Protestant cleric on Mary's council is incensed about an Catholic ruling the country and is removed from the council. Mary marries Lord Darney (Jack Lowden) which produces an heir James and it gets interesting as the two decide about how to play the game of marriage vs independence. it's an Brilliant and an Superb film with Top, Fabulous and Superb acting by Saorise Ronan, Margot Robbie, (their performances I have to say were just Tops), Guy Pearce, Jack Lowden, David Tennant, James McArdle and Joe Alwyn and it's directed by Josie Rourke with Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and Debra Hayward as producers and Beau Willimon doing the screenplay. I am giving this 4 and an half stars as it's in the cinemas now as it was released yesterday so do yourselves an favour and see it.
