This is the joint autobiography of legendary Motown songwriters Brian and Eddie Holland and in this book they talk about their upbringing in Detroit, raised by their mother and grandmother, starting get into music at an young age, both started as performers which Eddie was an solo singer who was then managed by Berry Gordy who had been an songwriter, Brian and Eddie getting together with Lamont Dozier who would become one of the great songwriting teams for Motown, writing and producing the classic hits for acts like the Supremes, The Four Tops, Martha and the Vandellas, Smokey Robinson and many other, the inspirations behind the songs, leaving Motown in 1968, working at different record labels and many others. It's FANTASTIC, BRILLLIANT, SUPERB as well as entertaining and impressive and an great read indeed. It's 60 years when Motown started and the great music that was made has stood the test of time including the work of Holland Dozier Holland which the music still sounds great today as well as Lamont Dozier is releasing his autobiography next week.
