Just Mercy
This afternoon I went to the Events Cinema Carindale to see the movie Just Mercy. It's 1987 and Walter (Johnny D) McMillian (Jamie Foxx) is arrested for the murder of an 18 year old girl named Ronda Morrison which he is found guilty for the crime and is sentenced to death. Then 2 years later Bryan Stevenson (Michael B Jordan) an Harvard law student comes down to Alabama to defend those who were wrongly convicted as well as those who couldn't afford legal representation so along with Eva Ansley(Brie Larson) an local advocate they put together Equal Justice Initiative and go to the prison where he would meet those who are in prison wrongly convicted including Walter. Bryan starts looking through the records which he is convinced that Walter is innocent as well as meeting Walter's family who believe his innocence and tries to get key witnesses including Ralph Myers (Tim Blake Nelson) as well as fighting to clear Walter and it gets interesting. It's sad, gripping, Brilliant and FANTASTIC with FANTASTIC acting by Jamie Foxx, Michael B Jordan, Brie Larsen, Tim Blake Nelson, Rob Morgan, Rafe Spall and O'Shea Jackson Jr. It's directed Destin Daniel Cretton and produced by Gil Netter, Asher Goldstein and Michael B Jordan. It's an good story and you will be amazed and touched by it. I am giving it 4 and an half stars as it's in the cinemas now so do yourselves an favour and SEE IT which you will be impressed. I nearly cried towards the end.
