Lionel Long

Since 2016 I have been collecting some of Lionel Long's work on Vinyl and I have the Homicide DVD's that he was in as well as Bandstand. I would like to mention his music as he does not get recognition for that as he recorded singles and albums which was not chart hits but he was very well known doing the music shows like Bandstand as well as hosting Sing Sing Sing and Music Time on Channel 7 as well as doing Homicide from 1968-69 as Detective Bert Costello and he recorded for EMI, RCA and Arrival labels which lot of his songs were Bushranger as folk music. The records I have collected are- 1. The first album Waltzing Matilda (1961) 2. His 1959 single Mighty Pyramid 3. his 1968 single To The Top End Of The World 4. the b side of True True Lvin from 1965 Love Is An Eagle 5. the self titled EP from 1961 6. his 1968 album Walkabout. it's an shame that his work has never been released on CD and there should be an time to get his work released as it would be great to hear his music as well as to understand how well known he was.
