This album was also the soundtrack album from the movie of the same name that he starred with Laurence Olivier and Lucie Arnaz which it was the 4th remake of the movie as the original movie starred Al Jolson in 1927. The album was recorded at Arch Angel Studio and the Record Plant(Los Angeles), Sunset Sound Recorders and Cherokee Studios (Hollywood) and Downbreaker Studio (San Fernando) all in California and it was released November 10th 1980 which went to number 3 in the USA, number 3 UK, number 10 Australia and number 24 in New Zealand as well as going platinum in the USA and UK, double platinum in Canada and South Africa and Gold in Hong Kong. From the album it had 3 hit singles Love On The Rocks, Hello Again and America and it was produced by Bob Gaudio of the Four Seasons legendary American singing group. The movie was an critical and commercial disappointment but the album was an huge success which sold over 5 million copies and it was Neil Diamond's biggest selling album in the USA. It's 40 years this year when it came out and it holds up very well to this day with great songs which has stood the test of time.
