Minari
This afternoon I went to the South Bank Cinema to see the movie Minari. It's the 1980's and Jacob Yi (Steve Yeun) with wife Monica (Han Ye-ri) and their 2 children David(Alan Kim) and Anne (Noel Kate Cho) move to Arkansas from California where Jacob hopes to grow Korean produce to give to the vendors in Dallas and he and Monica are working sexing chicks at an hatchery also. Monica's mother Soon-Ja(Youn Yuh-Jung) coming from South Korea and look after the kids. There is also challenges including David's heart condition and Jacob is going into difficulties including the well running dry and the vendor cancelling their order as well as the marriage reaching breaking point and then it gets interesting. It's FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT and SUPERB and very entertaining with FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT acting by Steve Teun, Han Ye-Ri, Alan Kim, Noel Kate Cho, Youn Yuh Jung and Will Patton. It was directed by Lee Issac Chung who also did the screenplay and produced by Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Christina Oh.
