Three Legends In Concert @ Redlands Performing Arts Center
Last Friday March 12th I went to the Redlands Performing Arts Center to the show Three Legends In Concert starring Normie Rowe, Dinah Lee and Jade Hurley which the last time I was at RPAC was nearly 3 years ago on Friday August 17th 2018 seeing Hermans Hermits and last time I saw Normie Rowe was at the Go Show Concert @ QPAC Thursday May 2nd 2019, Dinah Lee @ the Go Show @ QPAC Saturday July 23rd 2016 and Jade Hurley @ Twin Towns during Wintersun Saturday June 8th 2008 as he was the support act for Johnny Tillotson and The All Stars. I caught the bus from Carindale to Cleveland, had an look for where to go to have dinner which I eventually went to Twelve Boar, had Burger and Wings with chips for dinner, drank Pepsi Max and walk to the RPAC. Waited outside, went inside, checked in, bought CD and Poster, waited, went inside and spoke with an man Ryan from Melbourne and his wife. The show started after 8pm with Normie, Jade and Dinah doing Rockin All Over and then Jade did his own segment doing an few songs including Three Stars, then Dinah came on which she did a few songs including her 60's hits Do The Bluebeat and Don't You Know Yockomo and then Normie Rowe came on stage which he did some of his 60's classics including Que Sera Sera and Ooh La La as well as 2 songs from the Missing In Action CD and there was an interval where i had an coke to drink, went inside and sat in 20 AA. The show started with this time Normie Rowe came on stage doing some more of his 60's classics as well as the song Bring Him Home, Dinah came on which she did some more songs including Slipping Away as a tribute to Max Merritt who passed away in September last year as well as her hit Reet petite and then Jade came on which he did an few more songs before Normie and Dinah doing Clap Your Hands. The show finished around 10.35pm, saw Ray who I know from the gigs, saw Ronnie Kitchin who I knew during wintersun, met Bob who is one of the promoters of the show, getting autographs including the vinyls records I took along with me which Dad rang and then I had to ring Dad back, got photos with Normie and Jade, went outside , Saw Dad and came home. It was an FANTASTIC show which everyone had an great time and I had an great time seeing these true legends of Australian music as well as NZ music as it is great to see them back on stage after Covid as they have not been able to perform until recently and they are singing better than ever and sounding great too and also an great back up including Peter Blowes on Bass, Russell Bayne on guitar and Roger Montgomery on keyboards as well as Susannah on back up vocals. This show is well worth seeing and if you have not seen these legends yet please do yourselves an favour and SEE THEM as you will be impressed and entertained by these rock and roll legends as well as bringing back memories of an era in music.
