The Eyes of Tammy Faye

This afternoon I went to the Dendy Cinema Coorparoo to see the movie The Eyes of Tammy Faye. It's 1960 and Tammy Faye (Jessica Chastain) an Christian meets Jim Bakker (Andrew Garfield) an fellow student which they get married and her mother Rachel(Cherry Jones) disapproves and not as optimistic about her faith as Tammy who wants to help people. They go around the United States spreading the love of God with Jim preaching and Tammy singing as well as doing puppets and it is their preaching leads to the attention of Pat Robertson (Gabriel Olds) from CBN which Jim and Tammy host their TV show as well as Jim hosting the 700 Club. they meet Jerry Falwell(Vincent D'Onofrio) whis an conservative Christian who express an interest working with CBN and Tammy has an disagreement with Jerry which then she and Jim create the network PTL in 1974 as well as their own TV show The PTL show which it's a huge success with Jim encouraging viewers to donate money while Tammy is an successful singer. There is press reports about PTL handling their finances as well as issues with both Tammy and Jim and it gets interesting. It is FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT with Top Notch and Brilliant acting by Jessica Chastain, Andrew Garfield, Gabriel Olds, Cherry Jones and Vincent D'Onofrio and Jessica Chastain and Andrew Garfield play the roles of Tammy and Jim so brilliantly which they really nail it and it's one of their best performances of their careers. It is directed by Michael Showaiter and produced by Jessica Chastain, Kelly Carmichael, Rachel Shane and Gigi Pritzker. I give it 4 and an half stars and it's in the cinemas now so do yourselves an favour and SEE IT which you will be amazed.
