This is the autobiography of English businessman and former record producer as well as founder of the record label Island Records Chris Blackwell and in this book he talks about his upbringing in Jamaica, went to school in England at St John's Beaumont, St Peter's School and Harrow, his parents getting divorced, worked for Sir Hugh Foot who was Governor of Jamaica, , managing jukeboxes, started Island Records in 1959, was an production assistant on Dr No, working with acts including Millie Small, The Spencer Davis Group, Cat Stevens, Bob Marley, Nick Drake, U2, Grace Jones,The B-52's and Robert Palmer, having an rum label and many others. It is FANTASIC, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT stories as well as very impressive and very entertaining which it's an great read and well worth it. Chris currently runs Island Outpost in Jamaica which he sets up to operate and market a group of elite resorts in Jamaica. This is an must for music fans and I give it 5 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will love it and be amazed.
