In 1962 Robert Hunter an lyricist and future member of the iconic American rock band the Greatful Dead wrote about the scene in Palop Alto which it's in the San Francisco area as well as meeting future Greatful Dead founding member Jerry Garcia which they did their first gig together for a college audience as well as hanging around coffee shops, Keplers Books and many others and in 1982 Robert Hunter assessed his work which he shared it with close confidants but decided not to release it and after Hunter's passing in 2019 it was found 5 years later which it is out and also I have reviewed the paperback edition as it was just released recently. It is excellent, very impressive and very entertaining which it is well worth a read. This is the latest album by legendary American singer Richard Marx which it was recorded at Evergreen Studios in Burbank California over 3 afternoons in February 2025 and it has covers of standard pop songs including Young At Heart which he does it with Rod Stewart, Big Band Boogie with Kenny G, All I Ever Needed with Chris Botti and Days of You with Drea Tome. it is FANTASTIC with great songs and Richard sounds great on the album which he is still singing great better than ever. It went to number 89 in Australia, number 18 in the US Jazz Albums charts and number 14 in the US traditional Jazz charts and Richard will be touring Australia in April which includes Brisbane at QPAC on April 16th. This is a must for Richard Marx fans and I give it 4 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

Tonight I have been to the Events Cinema Carindale to see the music documentary EPIC (Elvis Presley In Concert) and in it has archival interviews with Elvis Presley talking about his life and career as well as footage of his performances from 1970 and 1972 which it was though that it was lost but was found a few years ago at the Warner Bros archives in Kansas as well as the footage of Elvis in Hawaii in 1957 performing and performance in the footage many of his classic hits which he was really at his peak at the time at the top of his game. It is AWESOME, AMAZING, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with FANTASTIC Footage and FANTASTIC music and it is well worth seeing it which it is like you are watching it live. It is directed by Baz Luhrman who has just done an FANTASTIC and AWESOME job putting it together and it all comes together. This is from the Courier Mail February 21st 1966(60 Years Ago today) and now the talk back station which it is the only commercial one here in Brisbane 4BC was one of Brisbane's top music radio stations at the time in the 60's which among their disc jockeys was Geoff Atkinson who had been with the station since 1958 was hosting the 4BC Go Show which it was on from 4pm until 7.30pm as it was on the day it was broadcast live from the Lennon's Hotel in the city which he was joined by the Rolling Stones who was performing in Brisbane at that time.

This is from the Sunday Truth February 16th 1969 and until 1992 when it became 4TAB which it is now Radio TAB 4IP having originally based in Ipswich was one of Brisbane's top radio stations at the time in the late 60's which among their disc jockeys was Tony MacArthur who had been with 4BC throughout the 60's until 1967 and went to London where he worked on Radio Luxembourg which was on 4IP Sunday nights from 6pm for 2 hours and Monday to Friday for 2 hours from 7pm live from London.

This afternoon I went to the Dendy Cinema Coorparoo to see the movie Wuthering Heights. Catherine Earnshaw(Margot Robbie) who lives with her abrasive father Mr Earnshaw(Martin Clunes) encounters an young boy who was rescued off the streets of Liverpool who is called Heathcliff(Jacob Elordi) that is named after Catherine's brother who passed away and they are inseperable as well as protective of each other which 6 years later Cathy plans to court Edgar Linton (Shazad Latif) which she does eventually leading Heathcliff to ride off in the sunset and Cathy longs for him to return which he does clean shaven and short haired but is angry with Cathy for marrying Edagr and he marries Isabella (Alison Linton) just to make her jealous which gets interesting. It is Amazing, Brilliant and SUPERB with Top, Brilliant and FANTASTIC acting by Margot Robbie, Jacob Elordi, Martin Clunes, Shazad Latif, Alison Linton and Hong Chau and it's directed by Emerald Fennell who also the screenplay and p...

On June 24th 1995 iconic American rock band Van Halen which had at the time Sammy Hagar on lead vocals were performing at the Wembley Stadium as part of their Balance tour as they had an album called Balance at that time and that performance was recorded which it is now out on CD. On the live recording perform their hits including Jump and You Really Got Me well as rear live recordings of The Seventh Seal and Feelin. It is FANTASTIC and ROCKIN with FANTASTIC songs with great playing by the guys and also sounded great too. Van Halen ended 6 years after the passing of member Eddie Van Halen but the music is still around and great to see stuff like this come out. This is a must for Van Halen fans and I give it 4 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves a favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

This is the 2019 documentary about legendary American country singer Dolly Parton which it's out on DVD and on it she talks about her career including going to Nashville in 1964, having her first country hit in 1966 with Dumb, meeting Carl Dean who would become her Husband, working with Porter Wagoner, having success on the pop charts as well as country with Jolene and Here You Go Again and movies including 9 to 5 as well as interviews with Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, Kylie Minogue, Mac Davis, Jerry Douglas and many others. It is FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT with AMAZING and Impressive stories and it is well worth watching. Dolly has just released a new version of her song Light Of A Clear Blue Morning with Reba McEntire, Miley Cyrus, Lainey Wilson and Queen Latifah and this is a must for Dolly Parton as well as country music fans which I give it 4 stars as it is in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

This afternoon I went to the Angelika Cinemas Woolloongabba to see the movie Hamnet. Agnes Hathaway(Jessie Buckley) summons a hawk when she first meets William Shakespeare( Paul Mescal) who is a tutor and fall in love with her which she is pregnant with his child that leads to her family disowning her and lives with William which they get married and they would have 3 children Susanna and the twins Hamnet and Judith while all that happend William goes to London for a career in the theatre which he would become successful and then tragedy struck with the passing of Hamnet and that leads to William to write a play Hamlet inspired by Hamnet's passing while they marriage is getting strained which gets interesting. This is the new compilation double CD by legendary Irish rock band The Boomtown Rats which I am reviewing the double CD as there is also an vinyl one as well and on the double CD it has the recordings of the classic hits the band made in the 70's and 80's including I Don't Like Mondays, Banana Republic, Rat Trap and She's So Modern as well as songs from the 2020 album Citizens of Boomtown and many others. It is FANTASTIC with FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT songs which has stood the test of time and still sounding great today as it did back then as great music endures after all these years and Bob Gedolf and Pete Briquette were the compilation producers. This is dedicated to the memory of member Garry Roberts who passed away in 2022 and they did an UK tour last year celebrating 50 years. This is a must for fans of the Boomtown Rats and I give it 4 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves a favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.
