4BK Top 40 February 1981
This is from the Telegraph February 11th 1981 (45 years ago today) and this was the 4BK Top 40 charts with Slim Dusty at number 1 with Duncan, Split Enz who are touring this year was at number 2 with One Step Ahead, Gilbert O'Sullivan at number 3 with What's In A Kiss and Mondo Rock at number 4 with State Of The Heart. The new entries in the charts that week were Karen Knowles who had been on Young Talent Time was at number 35 with Why Won't You Explain, Dr Hook at number 36 with Girls Can Get It and Little River Band at number 37 with Long Jumpin Jeweller and besides from Slim Dusty, Split Enz who were really New Zealanders but was making inroads in Australia and Mondo Rock the other Australian and New Zealand acts on the charts were The Reels at nnumber 11 with the EP According To My Heart, Mental As Anything who are getting back together with Reg Mombassa and Pete O'Doherty at number 12 with their version of the Reflections song Just Like Romeo and Juliet, Air Supply at number 17 with Every Woman In The World, AC/DC twice with ROck and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution at number 21 and You Shook Me All Night Long at number 29, Cheetah at number 20 with Spend The Night and Swingers at number 25 with Counting The Beat.
