First Fifty Years Songs Of Boomtown Glory The Boomtown Rats

This is the new compilation double CD by legendary Irish rock band The Boomtown Rats which I am reviewing the double CD as there is also an vinyl one as well and on the double CD it has the recordings of the classic hits the band made in the 70's and 80's including I Don't Like Mondays, Banana Republic, Rat Trap and She's So Modern as well as songs from the 2020 album Citizens of Boomtown and many others. It is FANTASTIC with FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT songs which has stood the test of time and still sounding great today as it did back then as great music endures after all these years and Bob Gedolf and Pete Briquette were the compilation producers. This is dedicated to the memory of member Garry Roberts who passed away in 2022 and they did an UK tour last year celebrating 50 years. This is a must for fans of the Boomtown Rats and I give it 4 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves a favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

Vale Peter Flanagan(the Fauns/The Flanagans)

Peter Flanagan member of legendary Australian singing family group the Fauns aka the The Flanagans passed away on September 2nd aged 73 at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. Peter along with brother Paul and Sister Margaret began as the Fauns in 1959 as they had been doing classical music training which they released 3 singles on the Leedon label- Dance With Me/Don't Take the Stars, We Should Be Together/While Susan Sleeps and Nursery Rhymes Rock and as the Flanagans they released 4 singles on the HMV label-He/Wonderland Of Love and Dreams(1965), Follow the Wind/Land OF Beyond(1965), You Were Meant FOr Me/That's How Man Began(1966) and This is My Song/For Bobby(1967). the group did appearances on Bandstand,Six O'Clock Rock, Teen Time, The Johnny O'Keefe Show, Sing Sing Sing, the Mike Walsh Show, IMT, Revue 61, Revue 62 and many others as well as performing on the Matt Munro TV special in 1966 as well as performing in the clubs too as well as co writing the song...
