Matching Jack

On Friday went to see the movie Matching JAck @ Balmoral Cinema. Life seems to be going well for Marissa Hagen(Jacinda Barrett) and her son Jack(Tom Russell) until Jack does an poor performance at a soccer match for school and she is trying to contact her husband David(Richard Roxburgh) who is away interstate at a conference which he is planning to leave Marissa for his mistress veronica (Yvonne Trahovski). Jack is diagnosed with leukemia and Marissa is trying to track down one of david's mistresses with a child who could help save Jack's life. meanwhile Jack is friendly with a boy in the next bed named Finn (Kodi Smit-McPhee) who is Irish and had been travelling the world with his father Connor(James Nesbitt). Connor and Marissa gets friendly after initial disdain and they find their own ways to deal with their sons illnesses. it's an EXCELLENT, sad, touching, Funny and BRILLIANT movie and it's an brilliant story which you can feel for these boys as they deal with their illnesses and it's uplifting with a positive message. Brilliant acting by Jacinda Barrett, Tom Russell, Richard Roxburgh, James Nesbitt, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Yvonne Trahovski and as well as appearences by 3 ex-Prisoner cast members Jane Clifton,Amanda Muggleton and Julia Blake, 3 ex-Neighbours cast members Jacinta Stapleton, Krista Vendy and Madeline West, Colin Friels plays Professor Nelson, Marge Downey(ex Fast Forward) plays Nurse Celia, Jane Allsop(ex Blue Heelers) plays Marianne and Kate Kendall (ex Stingers) plays the registrar nurse. it's directed by Nadia Tass and is also one of the producers with David Parker and Richard Keddie. I give it 4 and a half stars and it's currently running in the cinemas
