On Wednesday I went to see Vince Melouney @ Twin Towns which it was 2nd time seeing him live but 1st to see his own show. For those who don't know who Vince Melouney is well he played with Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs(1963-65) who played on the early hits "Poison Ivy",Mashed Potato, Sick & Tired and Over the Rainbow" as well as Blue Day which was a hit in Sydney, Tony Worsley and the Blue Jays, Vince & Tony's Two an duo with Aztec member Tony Barber(not the Sale of the Century host), the Bee Gees (1967-68) which he played on the first 3 albums and the international hits including Words, Massachusetts, I've Gotta Get A Message to you, To love Somebody, New York mining Disaster etc, fanny Adams featuring Doug Parkinson, John Paul Young & the All Stars and others. the show it's self was FANTASTIC which i was actually 20 minutes late as the bus I caught left Robina and stops on the way which i saw an friend of mine from work named Mariana and I got off at Coolangatta which i ran to twin towns. The rest of the show lasted for another hour which Vince played acoustic guitar doing most of the Bee Gees as well as other people songs and 2 of the Billy Thorpe & the Aztecs songs which he finished the show with were Poison Ivy and Over the Rainbow which he did an excellent instrumental on electric guitar. Met Vince and I saw my friend Leigh on myspace and the shows @ Kedron-Wavell which she told me that she was a bit late too. Got Vince's autograph and a photo and I asked about Colin Petersen which he lives in Maleny , Col baigent and Bluey Watson are retired which Bluey lives on the Gold Coast and Johnny noble lives in Newcastle. he said that he'll be hoping to be in brisbane around early New Year and it was an honour and a thrill to have met him which i will never forget it.
