Roimo and Juliette show @ Moreton Bay Sports Club

On Saturday May 18th I went to the Moreton Bay Sports Club to see an local singing duo called Romio and Juliette and they are actually Rita and Bruno it was my first time seeing them. I caught the bus to the club and had chicken,chips and salad for dinner and at 6.30pm the show started which for the next 4 hours Rita and Bruno did 4 great sets doing songs from Elvis presley, Bill Haley, Roy Orbison,The Eagles,Status Quo,UB40,The Drifters and many others which during one of the sets that an guy called Ross Vegas came on stage which he did those Elvis songs and also during one of the breaks I won $100 which was great and was so glad as I had not won an money draw since Sunday April 13th 2008 @ Easts Leagues CLub after seeing the Late Mick Hadley performing which I heard my name being announced as I was leaving. The show finished @ 10.40pm and I thanked the duo after the show and not long after I caught the courtesy bus home. Peter Flanagan member of legendary Australian singing family group the Fauns aka the The Flanagans passed away on September 2nd aged 73 at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. Peter along with brother Paul and Sister Margaret began as the Fauns in 1959 as they had been doing classical music training which they released 3 singles on the Leedon label- Dance With Me/Don't Take the Stars, We Should Be Together/While Susan Sleeps and Nursery Rhymes Rock and as the Flanagans they released 4 singles on the HMV label-He/Wonderland Of Love and Dreams(1965), Follow the Wind/Land OF Beyond(1965), You Were Meant FOr Me/That's How Man Began(1966) and This is My Song/For Bobby(1967). the group did appearances on Bandstand,Six O'Clock Rock, Teen Time, The Johnny O'Keefe Show, Sing Sing Sing, the Mike Walsh Show, IMT, Revue 61, Revue 62 and many others as well as performing on the Matt Munro TV special in 1966 as well as performing in the clubs too as well as co writing the song...

This is the book about 2 iconic Australian music shows that were on Channel 0 (now Channel 10)back in the 60's The Go Show on August 4th 1964 which lasted for 3 years and 222 episodes until September 17th 1967 and Kommotion hosted by Ken Sparkes was on from December 13th 1965 until September 28th 1967 after 356 episodes and in the book it has the info about both shows as well as episode guides as well the discography of both the Go label and the Kommotion label and the people who worked on Kommotion including Denise Drysdale and Molly Meldrum and many others including some memorabilla and photos of the artists. It is AWESOME, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with FANTASTIC and AWESOME stuff and amazing information about the Go Show which just celebrated 60 years an month ago and Kommotion as well as very impressive and very entertaining which it is well worth an read.
