Surf City the Jan and Dean Story is the autobiography of Dean Torrence the surviving member of the legendary American duo Jan and Dean. In this book he talks about meeting Jan Berry at high school in the late 50's, singing together in the Barons, serving in the Army, singing with Jan as Jan and Dean which they would achieve success with hit records from 1959-66 which included Baby Talk, Heart and Soul, Linda, Surf City, Dead Man's Curve, Ride the Wild Surf, his long and storied relationship with the Beach Boys, an near encounter with the Manson family, Jan Berry's car accident in 1966 and many others. It's an FANTASTIC and an BRILLIANT Book with FANTASTIC stories told by Dean and Mike Love from the Beach Boys who has just written his autobiography does the foreword. It's been 12 years since Jan Berry passed away but the great music of Jan and Dean still lives and Dean still performs with the Surf City All Stars mainly in the USA and Jan and Dean should be inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall Of Fame for the impact they made on rock and roll as they helped pioneer the California Sound .
