Please Come Home For Christmas by the Eagles
As this week we are approaching christmas I thought I would do Christmas songs by music acts and I would like to start off with the Eagles' Please Come Home For Christmas. In 1978 American rock band the Eagles released the Chirstmas song Please Come Home For Christmas which was an cover of the Charles Brown song which he did in 1960 and the Eagles version which was the first single for Timothy B Schmidt as an member of the band replacing original founding member Randy Meisner was released on November 27th 1978 which went to number 18 in the USA, number 30 in the UK, number 46 in Australia and number 27 in Brisbane with the b side Funky New Year written by Don Henley and Glenn Frey and it was the first Christmas song to hit the American Top 20 since Pretty Paper by Roy Orbison in 1963. It has been reissued over the years and it holds up very well to this day which it sounds great.
