Ego The Michael Gudinski Story
Last Saturday I went to the Events Cinema Carindale to see the documentary Ego The Michael Gudinski Story which was about Australian music executive and promoter Michael Gudinski. It talks about his upbringing in Melbourne, his parents who were Jewish Russian immigrants, starting promoting as an teenager, experience the music scene, being at Sunbury, formed Mushroom Records , started Frontier Touring, selling Mushroom, Starting Liberation, his personal issues and also has interviews with his wife Sue, children Matthew and Kate, Red Symons and Greg Macainsh from Skyhooks, Ross Wilson, Tim and Neil Finn, Billy Joel, Jimmy Barnes, Kylie Minouge, Ray Evans, Paul Kelly, Phillip Jacobson, Dave Grohl, Shirley Manson, Ed Sheeran and many others. It is FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT and SUPERB as well as very entertaining with great stories which are very impressive too and it is well wroth watching as it's about an icon of Australian music who had an passion for music and who cared for Australian music too. It is 2 years since Michael Gudinski passed away but has left an great legacy that lives on and who an impact on Australian music. It is directed by Paul Goldman and it is an must for Australian music fans which I give it 5 stars as it's in the cinemas now so do yourselves and SEE IT which you will be impressed and amazed. Let's keep supporting Australian music as well as hoping for more doucumentaries about Australian music icons.
