This is from the Telegraph September 28th 1965 (60 Years ago today) and now the classic hits station here in Brisbane 4BH was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the 60's which among their disc jockeys were Grahame Cherry who later worked for 4BK (now B105) and 4KQ, Dal Myles who managed Brisbane music group the Five who had the hit single I'll Be There and Bill Gates who gave the Bee Gees their name as well as doing Record Hops around Brisbane including the O'Connor Boathouse in the city on North Quay.

The Roses

Thsi afternoon I went to the Cineplex Cinema South Bank to see the movie The Roses. Theo Rose (Benedict Cumberbatch) who is an architect and wife Ivy (Olivia Colman) who is a chef having met in London years ago moved to Mendocino California which they have twins an son and daughter as they raised them differently with Ivy spoiling them with Cakes and fun activities while Theo proitizes their health. Ivy has her own restuarant We Got Crabs which was bought by Theo on the real estate and Theo loses his Naval History Museum in a storm while Ivy starts getting people coming into the restuarant seeking shelter which her business is getting successful and Theo loses his job which he becomes a stay at home parent which he becomes of her success while Ivy feels shut out of her children's lives which there is a rift between them and it gets really interesting. This is from the Telgraph September 25th 1958 and now the classic hits station in Brisbane 4BH was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the late 50's which among their shows was the Bottlers Club which it was a talent quest that was connected with Coca Cola was on Saturday mornings at 10.30am and the Grand Final was on September 26th 1958 that was held at the 4BH Auditorium on Adelaide Street in the city which was at 7.30pm.

This is from the Telegraph September 24th 1964 and now the talk back station as it is the only commercial one here in Brisbane 4BC was one of top music radio stations in Brisbane at the time in the 60's which among their disc jockeys were Geoff Atkinson, Tony MacArthur and Bob Wills who was on 4pm to midnight Monday to Friday and Sundays all day playing the latest records that was out at the time and Geoff was also hosting the QTQ 9 Music show Teen Beat.

Elvis An American Trilogy Show @ Kedron Wavell

On Sunday afternoon I went to Kedron Wavell to see the Elvis Presley tribute show Elvis An American Trilogy which it was my 3rd time seeing the show as the show this year had Louis Brown who was there last year, Arron Walker and Steve Michaels. I caught the Bus to the Gabba, caught bus to Chermside, went to Kedron Wavell, went to the Kitchen Restaurant where I had Chicken Inasale for lunch, drank Coke with No Sugar, ate Chocolate Banana Sundae, went up to the Blue Pacfic Room which I use my mobile. The show started after 2.10pm showing clips of Elvis from the 50's as well as before the show starting showing photos of Elvis over the years with Louis Brown coming on stage doing the 50's Elvis up to the Early 60's as well as doing the Robbie Williams song Angels with Mike an audience member as well Louis changed jackets a few times and then after Louis' set Aron Walker came on stage doing the songs from the Movie Period of Elvis which they showed clips from the movies and...

This is the new album by legendary American singer Belinda Carlisle and this was recorded at Deaver Studios in Los Angeles which the songs on the album are covers of classic songs from the 60's and 70's including Anyone Who Had A Heart originally done by Dionne Warwick then covered by Cilla Black, One by Three Dog Night which was covered by our own John(then Johnny) Farnham, The Air That I Breath which was the hit for the Hollies, If You Could Read My Mind the Gordon Lightfoot song and others. It is an FANTASTIC album with FANTASTIC songs with great singing by Belinda who is still sounding great at age 67 sounding better than ever and does those songs her way which she does it so very well. Kangaroo

This afternoon I went to the Events Cinema at Carindale where I saw the movie Kangaroo. Chris Masterman (Ryan Corr) is an weatherman on TV wants to host his own Show but is told to take leave after a mishap involving a dolphin which he is offered a job in Broome but while he is on his way there gets stranded in Alice Springs when his car crashes and encounters an 12 year ago girl named Charlie (Lily Whiteley) who lives with her mother Rosie(Deborah Mailman) and she avoids going to school as she has lost her father as well as hiding joeys in her bedroom and also both her and Chris starts caring for the joeys which it gets interesting. It is Fantastic, Impressive and very entertaining with great acting by Ryan Corr, Deborah Mailman, Lily Whiteley, Ernie Dingo, Brooke Satchwell, Rachel House, Wayne Blair, Roy Billing and Geneieve Lemon. In 1973 Australian singer Renee Geyer who had been with the band Sun who had 1 album released the year before with Sun 1972 released her debut solo album which the self titled album in September 1973 but it did not chart and she was backed up by the band Mother Earth which including Harry Brus on bass and Russell Dunlop on drums which it was recorded at ATA Studios Sydney that was owned by Australian music legend Col Joye and among the tracks were versions of Do Right Woman Do Right Man, Moondance, Just Like A Woman and Lean On Me and it is now out on CD finally through Aztec Records. Besides from the original album tracks it has bonus tracks which there is 6 that was from the ABC Music Show GTK from 1973-74 and it was versions of songs including Respect and Ain't No Sunshine. The Way We Were Vol 1 by Francis Rossi

This is the new CD by Status Quo member Francis Rossi and this has demo recordings of 17 songs which most of them went on to Status Quo albums Heavy Traffic (2002), The Party Ain't Over(2005), XS All Areas(2004) and In Search of the Fourth Chord(2007) and Francis' 2010 solo album One Step At A Time as well as 5 tracks that has never been released as Francis has dug into his personal archives to put it together. It is FANTASTIC with great songs and it is great to hear demo versions of songs that would go on to albums as well as those not released as it is interesting to hear them. Francis is currently doing an British solo tour called An Evening of Francis Rossi's Songs From the Status Quo Songbook and More as well as shows coming in Ireland, Germany, Holland, Denmark and Norway in 2026 which I hope he brings to Australia in the future. Air Supply @ The Brisbane Convention Centre

Last Night I went to the Brisbane Convention Centre to see the legendary Australian duo Air Supply which it was my second time seeing them live as my first was at QPAC Thursday April 25th 2019 (Anzac Day) and this is the 50th anniversary tour when they first started. Dad took me to the bus stop, caught bus to South Bank, rang Dad, went to the Plough Inn, had BBQ Beef Ribs, Chips and Coleslaw for dinner, Drank Pepsi Max, went to New Zealand Natural where I had a Movie Bowl Sundae and walk to the Brisbane Convention Centre. Bought Air Supply Bag and Magnet, Bought Pepsi max and Chips, ate chips, drank Pepsi Max and went inside. The show started at 8pm with Air Supply (Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock)coming on stage and for nearly 2 hours they performed their songs from the 70's and 80's as well as 1 from the 90's and 1 from the 2000's as well as one from an new album as well as Graham and Russell telling some stories including their first meeting as well as Graham ...

Chicago IX Chicago's Greatest Hits by Chicago

In 1975 American rock band Chicago released their first greatest Hits album Chicago IX which had the hits songs they had at the time between 1969-74 including 25 or 6 to 4, Make Me Smile, Just You'N' Me and Saturday In The Park and the album went to number 1 in the USA and number 16 in Australia. It's been released again as it is 50 years since it came out which it is expanded and besides from the original tracks that was out at the time the additions on the album including If You Leave Me Now, Baby What A Big Surprise, Alive Again, Questions 67 and 68, Beginnings and many others which it expands to 1980. It is FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT with FANTASTIC songs which has stood the test of time as it still sounds great today which it holds up very well. This is the boxed 5 CD set by American singer Elvis Presley which has recording sessions and rehearsals that was held at RCA Sunset Boulevard studios in Los Angeles California in the period between 1970-75 which on the 1st CD has the hit singles between 1972-75 including Burning Love, Always On My Mind, Separate Ways, Fool and T-R-O-U-B-L-E, the second CD has outakes of the songs that was on the First CD and the last 3 CD's has concert rehearsals between on July 24th 1970 and August 16th 1974. It is FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT with FANTASTIC songs as well as hearing the outtakes and rehearsals are just FANTASTIC too and the sound quality is FANTASTIC also. This is from the Telegraph September 2nd 1954 and now the classic hits station here in Brisbane 4BH was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the 1950's which among their radio personalities was Ron McNally who was on Monday to Friday at 4.30pm doing the Rumpus Room which was an show that was aimed at teenagers and on Saturday mornings at 8am with the show Saturday Morning Sing Song.

This is from the Telegraph September 1st 1959 and now the classic hits station here in Brisbane 4BH was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the late 50's which among their disc jockeys was Bill Gates who was the one who gave the Bee Gees their name as well as doing the record hops around Brisbane including the O'Connor Boathouse on North Quay in the city as well as the doing the Lunch Time Record Hops at City Hall which it was on from 12pm until 2pm.
