4BH Top 40 charts September 1968
This is from the Telegraph September 20th 1968 and this was the 4BH Top 40 charts with the 1910 Fruitgum Company at number 1 with 1 2 3 Red Light, Tom Jones at number 2 with the song written by Carlo Donida and Jack Fishman Help Yourself, The Equals at number 3 with Baby Come Back and the Beach Boys at number 4 with the song written by Brian Wilson and Mike Love which it would be on the 20/20 album Do It Again. The Australian acts that were in the charts that week were The Easybeats at number 7 with Land of Make Believe with Harry Vanda on lead vocals/Good Times, The Bee Gees at number 15 with Kitty Can/I've Gotta Get A Mesage To You, Johnny (John) Farnham at number 17 with I Don't Want To Love You(a cover of The Everly Brothers song)/Jamie written by Hans Poulsen and Normie Rowe at number 37 with Born To Be Your Side and among the other acts that were in the charts that week were Booker and the MG's at number 6 with Soul Limbo, The Rascals at number 9 with People Got To Be Free, Mason Williams at number 12 with Classical Gas, Mama Cass at number 16 with Dream A Little Dream Of Me, Herman's Hermits at number 20 with Sunshine Girl, Richard Harris at number 26 with the song written by Jimmy Webb MacArthur Park, The Beatles at number 33 with Hey Jude/Revolution and the Rolling Stones at number 34 with Street Fighting Man. Among the disc jockeys who was on 4BH at the time was Scott McKinlay who played the Top 40 on Monday to Friday from 9pm to Midnight and Sunday Mornings.
