The Roses
Thsi afternoon I went to the Cineplex Cinema South Bank to see the movie The Roses. Theo Rose (Benedict Cumberbatch) who is an architect and wife Ivy (Olivia Colman) who is a chef having met in London years ago moved to Mendocino California which they have twins an son and daughter as they raised them differently with Ivy spoiling them with Cakes and fun activities while Theo proitizes their health. Ivy has her own restuarant We Got Crabs which was bought by Theo on the real estate and Theo loses his Naval History Museum in a storm while Ivy starts getting people coming into the restuarant seeking shelter which her business is getting successful and Theo loses his job which he becomes a stay at home parent which he becomes of her success while Ivy feels shut out of her children's lives which there is a rift between them and it gets really interesting. It is excellent, witty, very funny and very entertaining with excellent acting by Benedict Cumberbatch, Olivia Colman, Allison Janney, Andy Samberg and Kate McKinnon. It was directed by Jay Roach who also produced it with Adam Ackland, Leah Clarke, Ed Sinclair, Tom Carver and Michelle Graham and it is the reimagining version of the 1989 movie The War Of the Roses that starred Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner and Danny Devito. I give it 4 stars as it's in the cinemas now so do yourselves an favour and SEE IT which you will be impressed and amazed.
