Once Upon A Star Starlight Starbright by Lonnie Lee
This is the 2nd of the 4 part autobiography of legendary Australian rock music legend Lonnie Lee and in the book it is between 1959 up to 1971 Lonnie talks about going back to Sydney to recommence his music career, forming the group Laurie Rix and The Beatnix before becoming Laurie Lee and the Leemen and eventually the name we know today as Lonnie Lee, began recording for Leedon which he would achieve success with classics including Ain't It So, Starlight Starbright, I Found A New Love and Yes Indeed I Do, doing Bandstand and 6 O'Clock Rock, touring Australia, promoting acts including Donna Gaye and John Rowles(JR), going to Europe and England, performing in Fiji, working with Ivan Dayman, Johnny O'Keefe, Judith Durham, Bobby Rydell and Max Merritt and the Meteors amongst others, recording for HMV and Sunshine, his spiritual awakening and many others. It is AWESOME, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with AMAZING and FANTASTIC stories as well as very impressive and very entertaining which it is well worth an read going through the journey with Lonnie through the late 50's, 60's and early 70's going through success, challenges and changes happening in his career as well as his personal life as well as the ups and downs. Lonnie is still performing which he has shows in NSW for the remaining of the year as well as early next year and also next Wednesday September 17th having a 2 book launch in Glebe. Australian music historian Glenn A Baker does the Foreword and Lonnie should be considered for an ARIA Hall of Fame induction for the impact he has done for Australian rock having being there from the start so let's hope for it sooner than later. This is an must for Lonnie Lee as well as fans of Australian rock and roll and I give it 5 stars as you can get it online at Starlite Records so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.
