Issi Dye Queensland show 2026

4BK December 1959

This is from the Telegraph December 31st 1959 and until 1990 when it became B105 4BK was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the late 50's which among their disc jockeys were Malcolm Searle who would went on to great success on TV which on New Years Eve did the direct Broadcast from the Centenary Mardi Gras North Quay from 11pm until 12.05am and the acts who performed on it were The Sunny Satellites, The Moreton bay Bushwackers, The Four Tunes, Rachel McQuade, Betty McQuade, Barry Fallon, Wendy Webster and Patricia Medhurst.

4KQ December 1960

This is from the Telegraph December 30th 1960 and long before known as the Good Times and Great Classic Hits station as well as the country music station in the 80's 4KQ was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the early 60's which on New Years Eve the station did New Year's Revels which was broadcast from the Southport Hotel at 9pm, the Currumbin Hotel at 9.30pm, Lennons Hotel Broadbeach at 10pm, Lennons Hotel Kirra at 10.30pm, Chevron Skyline Cabaret Surfers Paradise at 11pm, Paradise Room Surfers Paradise Hotel at 11.30pm and the Lennons Hotel Brisbane at 12 midnight with comperes George Hardman, Denys Beard, John Esdaile, Graham Webb and John Melouney and it was also relayed to 2KY Sydney, 2HD Newcastle and 2LM Lismore.

This is from the Telegraph December 28th 1973 and now the talk back station as it is the only commercial one here in Brisbane 4BC was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the early 70's which besides from being an music station they promoted shows which on New Year's Eve there was a show at the City with legendary Australian blues band Chain along with Family and other Brisbane bands Hot Weasal Band and Able Magwitch which the show started at 8pm until 1am.

It is AMAZING, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT stories as well as very impressive and very entertaing and it is well worth a read. Robert Ross who was a close friend of Terry Jones has done an FANTASTIC job with the book and Terry Jones' family co-operated with the book with 2 of former Monty Phyton castmates Michael Palin doing the foreword...

This afternoon I went to the Dendy Cinema Coorparoo to see the movie Rental Family. Phillip Vanderplog (Brendan Fraser) an American actor who has been living in Japan for 7 years is struggling to find a purpose in life until he encounters Shinji(Takehiro Hira) who owns an agency Rental Family and Phillip is hired to do stand in roles for strangers including marrying an lady, encounters an young girl named Mia (Shannon Mahina Gorman) who needs a father figure and gets friendly with Kikuo Hasegawa (Akira Emoto) and as he getting bonded with Mia and Kikuo Phillip gets a offer for an acting job and it starts to get interesting. It is excellent, very funny and very entertaining with excellent acting by Brendan Fraser, Takehiro Hira, Shannon Mahina Gorman, Akira Emoto and Mari Yamamoto. It is directed by HIKARI who also did the screenplay and produced it with Eddie Vaisman, Julia Lebedev and Shin Yamaguchi. Lucy & Desi The Love Letters by Lucie Arnaz

This is the book that has been put together by Lucie Arnaz singer and actress as well as daughter of iconic entertainers Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz and in the book it has letters that Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz wrote to each other between 1940 and 1958 as they were married from 1940 until 1960 as they talk about in the letters including what was happeining in the world, where they were at as well as what they were doing at the time with the world at war as well as they were in the early years of their relationship as well as budding careers in Hollywood which it has photos of them as well the historical timeline of their lives. It is FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT with FANTASTIC stuff which was BRILLIANTLY put together by Lucie Arnaz with help from Elisabeth Edwards and it was in 1989 after her mother's passing Lucie founded the letters of her parents which it is great to see the handwriting and evenlopes of the time in the 40's as it is amazing to see that Lucy and Desi clearly lo...

This is the 4th CD of the Beatles Anthology which it's the expansion of the original Anthology as it was 30 years this years when it came out and on this 4th CD it has tracks between 1963 up to 2022 which includes the 2025 mix of both Free As A Bird and Real Love as well as the 2023 single Now and Then as well as different takes of songs like Something with strings, the first take of In My Life, the 11th take of If I Fell and many others. It is FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with FANTASTIC songs which it's great to listen to the different takes of the songs as it's amazing and different to the ones we know them. It went to number 9 in the UK, number 48 in the USA and number 20 in Australia and it's been 30 years since the Anthology as well as 55 years since they broke up and the passings in 1980 of John Lennon and 2001 of George Harrison the music of the Beatles still endures and still appreciated to this day as it is still played on the radio as well as streaming whi...

This is from the Telegraph December 24th 1956 and long before known as the Good Times and Great Classic Hits station as well as being an country station in the 80's 4KQ was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the 50's which they were doing music even back then which on Christmas Eve 1956 they did the Grand Party Programme and on Christmas Day they did an Special Christmas Talent Quest which was on at 8pm recorded within the walls of HM Prison Brisbane which was compered by Andy Stevens and the piano players were Wynne Redwood and Laurie Parkes.

This is the new compilation by British rock band Wings which I am reviewing the double CD version as there is also a single CD version as well as an 1 LP and 3LP editions and on the double CD it has the classic hits including Band On The Run, Live and Let Die, Helen Wheels, Jet, Listen To What The Man Said, Mull of Kintyre and many others as well as the booklet with Paul McCartney doing the Introduction and Pete Paphides the Foreword as well as rear photos and information about the band. It is AWESOME, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with FANTASTIC and AWESOME songs that has stood the test of time and still sounding great today as it did back as great music endures. It went to number 12 in the UK, number 68 in the USA and number 33 in Australia and Wings should be considered for an Rock and Hall of Fame induction for the impact they've made on rock and roll. It was was 40 years ago on December 4th 1985 Australian singer Jimmy Barnes released his second solo album For The Working Class Man which went to number 1 in Australia, number 2 in New Zealand and number 109 in the USA which was produced by Jonathan Cain from the American band Journey, Mark Opitz, Gary Gersh and Chas Sanford and from the album had the hit singles Working Class Man, I'd Die To Be With You Tonight, Ride The Night Away and No Second Prize. It is now out on CD and on the album it just has the original album tracks no bonus ones but Jimmy did the liner notes as well as the booklet including the songs. This is from the Telegraph December 23rd 1964 and now the talk back station as it is the only commercial one here in Brisbane 4BC was one of Brisbane's top music radio stations at the time in the 60's which among their disc jockeys was Geoff Atkinson who had been with the station since 1957 as well as at the time hosting the QTQ 9 music TV Show Teen Beat was doing the Top 40 Go Show daily from 4pm until 7pm which during the holiday period he broadcast his show on the South Coast(now Gold Coast).

This is from the Telegraph December 22nd 1971 and now the classic hits station in Brisbane 4BH was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the early 70's which besides from being the music station it also promoted events including Christmas events which on this day and the 23rd December 1971 4BH did the Christmas Carols Festival at King George Square at 8pm which had the Queensland Light Opera Company and Happy Wanderers Choir as well as Johnny O'Keefe, Geraldine Turner, Carlton Six, Coaltown Revival and Melissa Lovejoy and The Shirley Goldsworthy Dancers.

The Kransky Sisters @ QPAC Cremorne

Last night I went to the Cremorne Theatre @ QPAC to see the group The Kransky Sisters which it was my 2nd time seeing them as I first saw them at QPAC Concert Hall Thursday October 20th 2016 as part of the benefit concert for Brisbane singer Carol Lloyd from Railroad Gin who was having health issues. Dad took me to the bus stop, caught bus to South Bank, went to the Plough Inn where I had Steak, Chips and Salad for dinner, bought Movie Bowls Desert from the NZ Natural, ate it, walk to the Cremorne, went inside and waited which it had stuff on stage as well as photos on the screen of the sisters. The show started at 7.30pm with Dawn, Maurn and Eve coming on stage sitting down with instruments as well as telling stories about life on the road as well as people they encountered at home as well as doing songs by Pink, MC Hammer, Queen and AC/DC as well as the 12 Days of Christmas which an audience member named Mike came on stage which they dressed him in the shirt, skirt and wig as they ...

Black and Blue The Rolling Stones

On April 23rd 1976 the Rolling Stones released the album Black and Blue which was recorded at Musicland in Munich, Rolling Stones Mobile Studio in Rotterdam and Mountain Recording in Montreux for overdubbing between December 1974 until February 1976 and went to number 1 in the USA, number 2 in the UK and number 4 and from that album had the hit single Fool To Cry. It was the first Stones album for Ronnie Wood who had come from the Jeff Beck Group and the Faces as an member having joined in 1975 when Mick Taylor who joined in 1969 replacing Brian Jones left in 1974 and among the other musicians playing on the album including Billy Preston, Harvey Mandel who had played with Canned Heat and British pianist and organist Nicky Hopkins. It is FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT as well as very impressive and very entertaining which it is well worth a read. As people would be aware by now Ita Buttrose is in a wheel chair as she got Frozen Gait Disorder and she is not giving up. I am giving this 4 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT and you will be impressed and amazed.
