The Cars by Bill Janovitz

This is the biography of the legendary American rock band of the 70's and 80's The Cars written by Bill Janovitz and in the book talks about the members backgrounds as well as the bands they played in including David Robinson who had bit of success in the Modern Lovers, forming the Cars in 1976 who would achieve great success with hit singles including Just What I Needed, My Best Friend's Girl, Let's Go, Shake it Up, You Might Think and Drive as well as albums including Candy-O, Panorama and Heartbeat City, tensions behind the scenes, the break up in 1988, the reunion in 2011, the passing of Ben Orr in 2000 and Ric Ocasek in 2019 and many others. It is AWESOME, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with AMAZING and BRILLIANT stories by the surviving members of the Cars, Elliot Easton and David Robinson as well as archival interviews with Ben Orr and Ric Ocasek as well as people who worked them as well as the families of the band members as well as very impressive and very entertaining which it is well worth a read. Bill Janovitz who has written books about Leon Russell and the Rolling Stones has done an FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT job putting it together with the surviving members involved with the book as well as member Greg Hawkes doing the Foreword and it's been 25 years ago since Ben Orr's passing as well as 6 since the passing of Ric Ocasek but the great music of the Cars still lives on today which it still gets played on the radio today and still appreciated it after all these years which great music endures. This is an must for fans of the Cars as well as fans of 70's and 80's music and I give it 5 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.
