Classic Albums- Chicago 16 by Chicago

This week's classic album segment let's have an look at the 1982 album Chicago 16 by legendary American group Chicago. The recording of the album was recorded from january-April 1982 and it was released on June 7th 1982 which it went to number 9 in the USA where it went Platinum, no 44 in the Uk, no 24 in New Zealand, Germany number 11, no 33 in holland, Canada number 17 and number 19 in Austria. this album was their first one with Warner brothers/Full Moon Records after being dropped by Columbia in 1981 as well as being the first album with member Bill Champlin who came from the San Francisco group Sons OF Champlin which he would be with the group until 2009 and it was their first album produced by David Foster who would produced 2 more albums with them in the 80's. From the album it had the 3 hits singles Hard To Say I'm Sorry (US number 1), Love Me Tomorrow(number 22) and What You're Missing (number 81) and the sound had changed too on the album as they were using synthesizers to update and streamline the sound in which the horn section which in some cases not using them at all and also David Foster had brought in studio musicians which included some of the members of the AMerican group toto who played on some of the tracks as well as Robert Lamm not being on most of the album due to personal issues at the time. It is an excellent album which it still sounds great today after 31 years and the songs on it still sounds great too which 8 of them were co written by David Foster and also it was this album that gave the group an second round of an successful period in the 80's after their successful period in the 70's as well as the low period for a few years as well as the group who are still touring and recording after 46 years of formation.
