Classic Albums-Centerfield John Fogerty

For this week's classic album segment let's have a look at the 1985 album by John Fogerty called Centerfield. The recording of that album was held at the Record Plant in Sausalito California from july until September 1984 and it was released on January 15th 1985 which it went to number 1 in the USA on March 23rd where it stayed for 1 week, number 1 in Sweden and Norway, no 48 in the UK, Number 7 in the US Country charts, number 13 in New Zealand and number 2 in both Austria and Canada. It was produced by John Fogerty himself who also did the instruments, vocals and arrangements and from that album it had 3 hit singles the title track, the Old Man Down The Road and Rock n Roll Girls. It is a great album with great songs which holds up very well to this day and it was John Fogerty's first album for Warner Brothers after a decade off due to the financial and legal problems with his former record company Fantasy records and also it is most popular post Creedence album which it has sold over 2 million copies to this day double platinum. There was legal issues connected with the album with the Old Man Down the Road which it was claimed that it shared the same chorus as the Creedence song Run Through the Jungle which John won the case and 2 other songs Mr Greed and Zanz Kant Danz were believed to be attacks on Saul Zaentz who owned Fantasy Records which John won again and but despite the legal problems the album is great which it is still in the shops and be sure to buy it which it is great to listen to and great songs that still endures which I'm sure you will enjoy it.
