Up From Down Under How Australian Music Changed the World by Jeff Apter
Up From Down Under How Australian Music Changed the World is a book written by Jeff Apter. In this book it talks about how music Australian music took over the world with acts like Peter Allen, Helen Reddy, Rick Springfield,Little River Band, The Bee Gees, Air Supply,Men At WOrk, Keith Urban, Gotye a recent rock band and many others who went to great success on the international market after their starts in Australia and would go on to collect grammys, Oscars and sales registering in the hundreds of millions as well as the cautionary tale about the hefty price to pay by many of those names which the passing of Michael Hutchence(INXS), Robin Gibb and MAurice Gibb(The Bee Gees) and younger Brother Andy proves that old adage to be true that is it is really a long to the top and it has for Australian music since that time. It is a excellent and a BRILLIANT book written by Jeff Apter who does a great job doing the research and the interviews which i enjoyed the book and it was impressive too. this is the second book Jeff has written this year as he wrote the Johnny O'Keefe which was released a few months ago and he does a great job doing these books about Australian music. This book is a must for Australian music and I am giving this 5 stars which it's in the shops now so do yourself a favour and BUY IT.
