the Go Show Golden @ Jupiters Casino August 16th 2014

Last night(August 16th) I went to Jupiters Casino on the Gold Coast to see the show the Go Show Golden as this month is 50 years when the Australian music show The Go Show began on Channel 10 in 1964 which lasted until 1967 as it was hosted by Alan Field, Ian Turpie, Johnny Young and Ronnie Burns and this is the first time this show has come to Queensland as it has been performed mainly in Adelaide and Melbourne but they did Sydney in 2012 and Hobart a month ago as I always hoped it would come to Queensland as they were going to do Brisbane in 2012 but it was cancelled. I went to the theater before 7pm which I bought the program and the new compilation CD of Ross D Wyllie, bought a packet of chips and a Coke Zero, met John Farrar of the Strangers as well as the Shadows as well as the man wrote many of the Grease songs for Olivia Newton John and his wife singer Pat Carroll who sang with Olivia in the 60's as well as being an well known singer who appeared on the Go Show as well as Bandstand, In Melbourne Tonight and other shows which I got autographs and photos, went inside and write notes. The show started @ 7.30pm with Johnny Young coming on stage which he performed his double sided number 1 from 1966 with Cara Lyn who also did the comparing for the show as well as introducing the acts which the first act that came on stage was Tony Worsley which he performed 3 songs including his big hit Velvet Waters which he sounded great as I had not seen him since Cooly ROcks On last year on Sunday June 9th 2013, then the next act came on stage was Ronnie Charles the lead singer of the Groop from 1966-69 which he sang 2 of the Groop hits as well as his solo song Katy Jane and it was my first time seeing him live, then after Ronnie Charles came Ronnie Burns which it was my first time seeing him live too which he sang 3 of his hits and sounded great as well and the last act for the first half was Colleen Hewett who is back performing which again my first time seeing which she sounded great and walk through the audience to get to the stage which she performed her 4 hits. There was an interval which I bought the Colleen Hewett and Mick Flinn CD's, saw Jen from the shows, saw Paul Schorr of the Brisbane 60's rock group the Escorts which I met him last year @ the Old Rockers Get Together in New Farm, met Dennis Annable of the Escorts which I got an autograph and an photo, saw Anne(Tony Worsley's wife), Saw my friend Leigh from the gigs, went inside and use mobile. The second half of the show started with clips of different acts of the era and then the Mixtures came on stage with the line up of Mick Flinn, Idris Jones, Fred Weiland and Garry Howard which they performed 4 songs including their 2 big hits In the Summertime and the Pushbike Song and sounded FANTASTIC, Donna Jones an English singer of Pussyfoot who is married to Mick Flinn came on stage she sang 2 songs and she sounded just great, Johnny Young came on stage which he did a tribute to Jim Keays who died back in June which the Masters Apprentices were going to be on the bill and they show the clips which looked great and JOhnny sang Because I love You and also he performed 3 of the songs he wrote for Lionel Rose and Russell Morris and he sounded great, then Ross D Wyllie who also back performing as well as my first time seeing him came on stage which he did 2 of his hits and Mockingbird with Penni the back up singer who is married to Normie Rowe and sounded great, then Mike Brady from MPD Limited came on stage which he did 3 songs including Little Boy Sad ( his hit with MPD Limited) and his famous footy song Up there Cazaly and he sounded excellent, Normie Rowe was the last act on stage performing 5 of his classics hits which he sounded great as always and then the cast came back on stage to perform United We Stand which the last song for the night as it finished around 10.30pm. I saw Jen again with Joe which we got a photo taken, met Donna Gaye who was a singer back in the 60's and is married to Dennis of the Escorts which I got an autograph and a photo, met Barry Annable of the Escorts which I got an autograph and a photo, went upstairs where most of the acts came to sign stuff, I got autographs and photos with Normie, Mick Flinn of the Mixtures, Ronnie Charles and Garry Howard, saw Penni, met Jeff Joseph tour manager, Dennis Smith the producer who worked on the Go show back in the 60's and Gavan Anderson of Bluestone and also saw Wally Bishop who managed Max Merritt in the 2000's, took my stuff back up to the room, saw Mum, met Ronnie Burns which I got an autograph and an photo and me and Mum went to Bite which I had a late dinner as I had Nachos. Then this morning @ the Food Fantasy I saw Mick Flinn, saw Jeff Joseph outside Food Fantasy which I thanked him for bring the show to Queensland, saw Mike Brady, met James Black of Mondo Rock which I got an autograph and an photo and Peter Robinson of both the Thunderbirds and the Strangers which I got an autograph and an photo. It was an AWESOME show which everyone had a great time including myself and the acts were AWESOME too which I enjoyed their sets and the back up band were just FANTASTIC which included Peter Robinson, James Black, Gill Matthews of Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs, Gavan Anderson and the back up singers were just FANTASTIC too.
