A Sharp Left Turn by Mike Chunn

This is the autobiography of NZ musician and founding member of 2 legendary New Zealand rock bands Split Enz and Citizen Band Mike Chunn and in this book he talks about his upbringing in Otahuhu New Zealand, started piano lessons, going to Scared Heart college where he met Tim Finn and played in Bands there, Joined an band called Moses, formed Split Enz in 1972 which he was on 2 albums, playing around New Zealand and Australia which they went there in 1975, working in Europe and America, leaving Split Enz in 1977, forming another band Citizen band in 1977 which they did 2 albums which he was with them until 1980, dealing his mental health issues which was discovered in 1981 with agoraphobia, his 2 marriages, doing behind the scenes work including manager, A&R work and many others. It's AWESOME, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with FANTASTIC stories as well as very entertaining and impressive and an amazing journey for this man who was an musician to do the behind the scenes work and an very enjoyable read indeed. Mike is the CEO of Play It Strange which encourages children to try songwriting which he's been involved with it since 2004 and 4 years was given the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to music and mental health awareness. This is an must for Split Enz fans and I give it 5 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed.
