Once We Were Brothers Robbie Robertson and the Band
This is the documentary about the legendary rock group the Band which was in part based of Robbie Robertson's 2016 memoir Testimony and he talks about his upbringing in Canada, joining Ronnie Hawkins in the Hawks, recruiting Rick Danko, Richard Manuel and Garth Hudson that would become the classic line up of the Band, working with Bob Dylan, achieving success on their own with classic albums including Music From the Big Pink, The Band, Stage Fright, the issues with drugs with the other members etc and it has interviews with Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen, Van Morrison, Peter Gabriel, John Simon who produced the Band's first 2 albums as well as the Last Waltz, Martin Scorsese and many others. It's FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with great and entertaining stories and an enjoyable watch of an era which I was amazed and impressed. It was directed by Daniel Roher and produced by Lana Belle Mauro, Stephen Paniccia, Andrew Munger and Sam Sutherland. This is an must for fans of the Band and I give it 4 and an half stars as the DVD is in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be amazed and impressed.
