Slim and I

This afternoon  I went to the Balmoral Cinema to see the documentary Slim and I which it's about Australian singer-songwriter Joy McKean and her husband the legendary Australian country singer-songwriter Slim Dusty. In this documentary she talks about  her having polio as an girl, singing with her sister Heather which they had an radio, meeting Slim Dusty who would become her husband, the touring years with her husband and children, her success as an songwriter as she wrote the songs for her husband as well as managing and many others as well as interviews with her children Anne and David Kirkpatrick, Keith Urban, Bill and Kasey Chambers, Missy Higgins, Paul Kelly, Glenn A Baker Troy Casser Daly and others. It's Amazing, FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with amazing stories as well as entertaining and impressive. It was directed by Kriv Stenders, produced by Chris Brown and Aline Jacques and Joy McKean was one of the executive producers along with James Arenman. Joy is still writing songs and it's been 17 years since Slim Dusty's passing  but his legacy lives on in the music as well as being an influence for many Australian country singers. It is one of the best Australian music documentaries so far and   I think it's important to acknowledge Joy as she was the woman behind Slim's success. This is an must for Australian music fans which I give it 5 stars as it's in the cinemas now so do yourselves an favour and SEE IT which you will be amazed and impressed as well as learn an thing or two about Australian music  the way it was back then.
