This is the 2SM Top Forty charts from the Gold Coast Bulletin January 27th 1967 (57 years ago today) and at number 1 Tom Jones with Green Green Grass of Home, at number 2 Normie Rowe with Ooh La La which was recorded in England, at number 3 The Easybeats with the classic Friday On My Mind written by Harry vanda and George Young(first single written by them) and at number 4 Peter and Gordon with Knight In Rusty Armour. Normie Rowe was also at number 5 with It's Not Easy also recorded in England which among the other Australian acts in the chart that week were Johnny Young and Kompany with Kiss Me Now at number 8, The Cherokees at number 13, The Loved Ones are on the top 40 3 times with the EP Blueberry Hill at number 15, the classic The Loved One at number 34 and Sad Dark Eyes at number 40, Johnny Young also in the top 40 2nd time with Let It Be Me at number 16, the Bee Gees at number 17 with Spicks and Specks, the Easybeats at number 18 with Sorry written by Stevie Wright and George Young, the Id featuring Jeff St John at number 24 with Big Time Operator, Marty Rhone at number 25 with Village Tapestry, the Twilights at number 26 with You Got Soul an cover of the Johnny Nash song, Ronnie Burns at number 27 with Coal Man/All The King's Horses, Grandma's Tonic at number 31 with Hi HI Hazel, Melbourne Disc Jockey Grantley Dee at number 32 with You're Sixteen and the Seekers at number 38 with Georgy Girl which was from the Come The Day album as well as the movie from the same name starring Lynn Redgrave, James Mason, Charlotte Rampling and Alan Bates. Peter and Gordon are on also on the chart with lady Godiva at 28 as well as The Beach Boys with Good Vibrations at number 9, the Monkees at number 11 with I'm A Believer written by Neil Diamond, Roy Orbison who was touring Australia that month with The Yardbirds, the Walker Brothers and Johnny Young was at number 12 with Communication Breakdown, the Swinging Blue Jeans at number 33 with Rumours Gossip Words Untrue and Cliff Richard at number 35 with In The Country.
