Band on the Run by Paul McCartney and Wings
it's 50 years ago when Paul McCartney and Wings released the album Band On The Run which was released on November 30th 1973 and was recorded in London and Lagos which while they were in Lagos they were robbed losing demo tapes and bag of song lyrics as well as the departures of drummer Denny Seiwell and guitarist Henry McCullough so it was the line up of Paul McCartney, Linda (his wife) and Denny Laine who had been from the Moody Blues(his voice on Go Now) along with Ginger Baker (Cream/Blind Faith) playing precussion on 1 track, Howie Casey the sax player who had with Derry and the Seniors which later became Casey and the Seniors played on 3 tracks were among the additional musicians playing on the album. From the album had the hit singles the title track Band on the Run and Jet and it went to number 1 in the UK, USA and Australia in 1974 which has been one of Paul McCartney's most successful albums as well as one of his best work after the Beatles. It is now being reissued as it's the 50th anniversary and on the double CD release that is out now which first CD has the original tracks as well as Helen Wheels which was not the UK release but was added when it was released in the USA is on the CD and on CD 2 it has the underdubbed mixes of the songs as well as an poster of double sided Polaroid photos that was taken by Linda McCartney which it's FANTASTIC. It is FANTSTIC, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with FANTASTIC songs which has stood the test of time and still sounding great as it did back then as well hearing the underdubbed mixes which is interesting to hear those mixes. This an must for Paul McCartney fans and I give it 5 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.
