Jimi Hendrix Experience Hollywood Bowl August 18th 1967

On August 18th 1967 the Jimi Hendrix Experience were the support act for American group the Mamas and the Papas at the Hollywood Bowl 5 days before the release of Are You Experienced in the USA which they performed in front of 17,000 fans who wanted to see the Mamas and the Papas were caught off guard by showman and musicianship on stage and it was one of the last times they performed as relatively unknowns and this performance is now out on CD as it was recorded on 2 track. The songs on the CD are the setlist they performed at that show including their hit singles The Wind Cries Mary and Purple Haze as well as Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Like A Rolling Stones and Wild Thing and there is an fantatsic booklet that was done by Jeff Slate. It's FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT and SUPERB as well as AWESOME and the songs are FANTASTIC when you think it's nearly 57 years ago when that was recorded and quality is FANTASTIC. His Sister Janie, producer Eddie Kramer and John McDermott produced the CD and it is amazing that the time in 1967 Hendrix was known in the UK and Europe then coming to America performing at Monterey Pop Festival as well as touring with the Monkees which didn't go down very well and then the show at Hollywood Bowl was the turning point . It's 54 years this year since the passing of Jimi Hendrix but the great music he made lives on and great to see recording that has never been released getting released. This is an must for Jimi Hendrix fans and I give it 5 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.
