The Black Sorrows @ The Koala Tavern
Last Night I went to the Koala Tavern in Capalaba to see legendary Australian band The Black Sorrows which it was my 3rd time seeing them as well as my 6th time seeing Joe Camilleri. Dad took me to the shopping centre, drank Pepsi Max, caught bus to Capalaba, walk to the Koala Tavern went to the Bistro, rang Dad, Had Rump Steak, chips and salad for dinner, drank Coke With Sugar and ate Chocolate Brownie. Went to the bar, drank Coke with No Sugar and watch the support act Sean Power and the Main Street band who are an Brisbane group which they did an very good set and played very well. There was an interval which I had an Coke With No Sugar to drink and wrote notes. The Black Sorrows with Joe Camilleri as well as well including James Black from Mondo Rock came on stage at about 9.35pm and was on stage for nearly 1 hour and an half which they performed their hits from the 80's and 90's including the Chosen Ones, Daughters of Glory, Harley and Rose and Never Let Me Go which an lady named Michelle did the singing which she sounded great as well as the 2 hits from the Jo Jo Zep and The Falcons era Hit Run and the Shape I'm In as well as doing the Van Morrison son Jackie Wilson Said , The Bob Marley song Stir It Up and the Rolling Stones version of Little Red Rooster. I left at 11pm as they were coming to the end of the show, my Dad picked me and came home. It was FANTASTIC which everyone had an great time and I had an great time too and the Black Sorrows were FANTASTIC too playing great and singing great with Joe Camilleri still sounding great at the age of 75 76 on May 21st which he is still playing and sounding better than ever which he played guitar, saxophone and harmonica as well as very entertaining getting the crowd going which it is an real entertainer is all about. I look forward to seeing them again in the future and they will be at the Gympie Muster on August 25th as well as the Redlands Performing Arts Centre. If you have not seen them live please do yourselves an favour and SEE THEM which you will be impressed and amazed as well as bringing back memories for those who grew up in the 80's and 90's.
