This is the memoir of Scottish singer Lulu and in the book she talks about her upbringing in Glasgow, started singing at age 9, performed with the Bellrocks and The Gleneagles, began recording for Decca which she had her first with Shout in 1964 as well as Leave A Little Love and Try To Understand, doing the movie To Sir With Love which she recorded the theme song as she was recording for EMI as well as having more hits including The Boat That I Row, Boom Bang a Bang and Oh Me Oh My, doing her TV shows including Happening to Lulu, her 2 marriages to Maurice Gibb and John Frieda, working with Mickie Most, The Hollies, Jimi Hendrix, Sidney Poiter, Jerry Wexler, Ronan Keating and many others. It is FANTASTIC and AMAZING with FANTASTIC stories as well as very impressive and very entertaining which it's well worth a read. Lulu has UK shows coming up in May, June and July and this is a must for 60's music fans as well as fans of Lulu and I give it 4 stars as it's in the shops ...

This is the memoir of American actress Christina Applegate and in the book talking about her upbringing in Laurel Canyon California, her parents seperated, did her first acting role on the US Daytime soap Days Of Our Lives, doing guest roles on shows including Charles In Charge and 21 Jump Street, acheiving great success with Married With Children playing Kelly Bundy, doing other movies including Don't Tell Mom The Babysitters Dead, The Sweetest Thing and Anchorman, her 2 marriages, encounters with Ed O'Neil, Katey Seagal, Brad Pitt and Johnny Deep, doing other TV shows including Dead To Me, getting diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2021 and many others. It is FANTASTIC with great stories as well as very impressive and very entertaining and it is well worth a read. This is the autobiography of British actress Natalie Cassidy known for her role as Sonia Fowler in the British soap opera Eastenders and in the book she talks being on Eastenders which she was on it one and off for 32 years until last year, the passing of her parents, motherhood, her struggles with her body language, working with people June Brown, Wendy Richard and many others including receipes which it's in the book. It is FANTASTIC as well as very impressive and very entertaining which it is well worth a read. Natalie left Eastenders last year and she does a podcast called Life with Nat. This is a must for fans of Eastenders and I give it 4 stars as it's in the shops now so please do yourselves a favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

This is the autobiography of Australian actor, playwright, Director, Screenwriter and composer Barry Creyton and in the book talks about his upbringing in Brisbane, going to Brisbane State High School, joined the Brisbane Arts Theatre and Twelfth Night Theatre, worked on ABC radio and 4BH, mentored by Babette stephens, worked in Sydney and Melbourne in the Theatre, achieving great success on TV with the Mavis Bramston show from 1964-66 as well as having his own TV show the Barry Creyton show, working in England working tn the Theatre, coming back to Australia where he did theatre work as well as doing Blankety Blanks, working in American where he still lives, working with Noeline Brown, Carole Raye, Gordon Chater, Graham Kennedy, Stuart Wagstaff and many others. This afternoon I went to the Dendy Cinema in Coorparoo where I saw the movie The Magic Faraway Tree. Tim(Andrew Garfield) and Holly(Claire Foy) Thompson along with their 3 children Beth(Delilah Bennett-Cardy), Fran(Billie Gadson) and Joe (Phoenix Laroche) moved to the countryside where Fran discover a magical tree where she meets Silky(Nicola Coughlan), Moonface (Nonso Anozie), The Saucepan Man(Dustin Dermi Burns), Mr Watzisname (oliver Chris) and Dame Washalot(Jessica Gunning) and Beth and Joe join Fran to the Magical Tree where they transported to Spectacular and Fantastical Lands while Tim and Holly build a tomato shed to sell tomatoes and it gets interesting. It is excellent, very funny and very entertaining with excellent acting by Andrew Garfield, Claire Foy, Nicola Coughlan, Nonso Anozie, Jennifer Saunders, Jessica Gunning and also cames by Michael Palin, Lenny Henry and Judi Dench. This is the new album by Australian country singer Beccy Cole and this was recorded at the Rabbit Hole Recording Studio in NSW on the Central Coast which the songs on the album are all written by Beccy as well as among the musicians playing including country musician as well as father of Australian country singer Kasey Chambers Bill Chambers playing Lap Steel and Dobro as well as there is a bonus track Poster Girl 20 Years. It is an FANTASTIC album with great songs as well as great singing by Beccy who is sounding great on the album and it was produced by the Dingo Music Productions and The Sisters of Twang. Reminders Of Him

This afternoon I went to the Cineplex Cinema at South Bank to see the movie Reminders Of Him. Kenna Rowan (Maika Monroe) is released from jail after serving 7 years for being in car crash that killed her boyfriend Scotty(Rudy Pankow) she is trying to get her life together which she is looking for work but is been turned down but eventually gets a job at the supermarket at GG and encounters Ledger(Tryiq Withers) who was the best friend of Scotty's as well as an owner of the local bar which Kenna starts to have a liking for him but he knows who she is and won't let her see her daughter Diem who has been living with her parents Patrick (Bradley Whitford) and Grace (Lauren Graham) and then things starts to get interesting. This is from the Telegraph March 14th 1960 and now the classic hits station here in Brisbane 4BH was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the early 60's which on the breakfast show that was on between 5am until 8am there was a segment called Battle of the Ages which had disc jockey Russ Callow and well known Australian singers who were around at the time which the next day (March 15th) iconic Australian rock singer Col Joye was on the Battle of the Ages segment and also on the same day appeared at the Record Hop at City Hall between 12pm til 2pm.

This afternoon I went to the Events Cinema Garden City where I saw the documentary about the legendary Australia band Mental As Anything and in it has interviews with members Martin Plaza, David Twohill, Reg Mombassa and Pete O'Doherty, archival interviews with Greedy Smith, Neil Finn, Greedy's brother Stewart Smith, Colin Hay(Men At Work), Jane Gazzo (Australian music writer), Dave Graney and others as well as talking about their formation in the 70's, playing around the Sydney music scene, began recording for Regular which achieve great success with hit singles including The Nips Are Getting Bigger, Come Around, If You Leave Me Can I Come Too, Bersek Warriors, Live It Up and many others as well as albums including Get Wet, Expresso Bongo, Cats and Dogs and Fundamental As Amnything, going to America as well as Europe, outside projects and many others. This is from the Courier Mail March 3rd 1966(60 Years Ago today) and now the talk back station as it is the only commercial one here in Brisbane 4BC was one of Brisbane's top music radio stations at the time in the 60's which among their disc jockeys were Geoff Atkinson, Tony MacArthur and Graeme Smith (Bob) who had just joined the station at the time due to Bob Wills leaving 4BC and going to 4BK which they were on daily from 4pm until midnight playing the latest records that was out at the time.

This is from the COurier Mail March 2nd 1959 and until 1990 when it became B105 4BK was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the late 50's which besides from being a music station 4BK use to do shows too which in the Breakfast Show was Tangle Tunes which the listener would win 10 pounds cash prize and on Monday to Thursday at 1.45pm was the Search For Karen Hastings.

This is from the Telegraph March 1st 1967 and until 1990 when it became B105 4BK was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the 60's which among their disc jockeys was Bill Gates who had joined the station that year afer being with 4BH for 9 years who was the one who gave the Bee Gees their name as well as doing the record hops around Brisbane at the time including the O'Connor Boathouse which was in the city on North Quay did the Breakfast Show Monday to Saturday at 5.30am.

Solo Mio

This afternoon I went to the Events Cinema in the city to see the movie Solo Mio. Matt Taylor(Kevin James) who is an art teacher proposes to Heather(Julie Ann Emery) and are about to have their wedding in Italy but on the day Heather doesn't turn up which Matt finds the note which he is devastated and he tries to contact and find her but is unable which he goes on a tour for married couples where he meet Julian (Kim Coates) and his wife Meghan (Alyson Hannigan) and Neil (Jonathan Ruhme) and his wife Donna(Julee Cerda) who is a therapist and both couples are having issues. While dining at the local cafe Matt meets Gia(Nicole Grimaudo) who owns the cafe and shows him around the city which they form a connection and it gets interesting. It is excellent, very funny and very entertaining with excellent acting by Kevin James who was also one of the writers, Alyson Hannigan, Kim Coates, Jonathann Ruhme, Julee Cerda, Nicole Grimaudo and Andrea Bocelli and also Ed Sheeran does an apperan...
