I Swear

This afternoon I went to the Dendy Cinema Coorparoo where I saw the movie I Swear which it is based on a true story. It's Scotland 1983 with John Davidson (Scott Ellis Watson) who goes to a secondary school as well as playing soccer is experiencing tics as well as saying swear words but not on purpose but is getting in trouble and attempts suicide and 13 years later John who is now 25(Robert Aramayo) is still living with his mother Heather(Shirley Henderson) which he has tourettes and takes medication which he then meets up with old school friend Murray (Francesco Piacentini Smith) and meets Murray's mother Dorothy (Maxine Peake) who is an medical health nurse which John moves in with Murray's family and with Dorothy's help he gets a job at the local community centre with Tommy(Peter Mullan) but still experiencing his tics and then gets interesting which he starts talking about his experiences with Tourettes. It is saw, Amazing, Brilliant and Superb with FANTASTIC acting by Robert Aramayo, Scott Ellis Watson, Shirley Henderson, Maxine Peake, Peter Mullan and Francesco Piacenti-Smith. It is directed by Kirk Smith who also wrote it and produced it with Georgia Bayliff and Piers Tempest and it has a message about the knowledge and awareness about Tourettes which it is more known now in 2026 comparisons to what was back in the 80's as much was not known about it as well as being misunderstood but as I said we know more now which must we accept, respect and understand these things. I am giving this 4 and an half stars as it's currently running in the cinemas so do yourselves a favour and SEE IT which you will be impressed and amazed as well understand the story.
