Countdown 40th Anniversary

On November 8th 1974 an Australian music show on the ABC called Countdown begins on TV which would last for 13 years until July 19th 1987 and this show would influence an generation of Australians as well as launching careers of many acts who would become household names with the likes of John Paul Young, AC/DC, Sherbet, Skyhooks, the Angels and many others and in honor of the 40th anniversary of this iconic show there is an double CD which has an mixture of Australian and international acts covering pop, rock and everything else in between which on this CD it has the performers including Skyhooks, Sherbet, John Paul Young, Hush, Ted Mulry Gang, Little River Band, Men At Work, Fleetwood Mac, ABBA, Iggy Pop, Plastic Betrand, KISS, Dragon,Cold Chisel, Split Enz, Moving Pictures, Cindy Lauper and many others. It is AWESOME, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with great songs which holds up so well and still sounds great to this day and this CD is very well put together. It is amazing that it is 40 years when this iconic show began and 27 years when it finished which it is still fondly remembered to this day as this weekend an 2 part documentary is to be shown on the ABC. This CD is an must for any Australian music fan who watched Countdown and I am giving this 5 stars which it's in the shops now so as Molly Meldrum would say do yourself a favour and BUY IT.
