The Sports Reckless and Don't Throw Stones

Reckless and Don't Throw Stones were the first 2 albums from the legendary Australian rock group The Sports which they are out on CD. Reckless was released in 1978 which went to no 43 on the Australian album charts and from that album had 2 singles Boys(what did the Detective Say?)(no 55)written by Martin Armiger and When You Walk In the Room(no 42) which it was produced by Joe Camilleri of Jo Jo Zep as it had an mostly original songs written by Stephen Cummings with Ed BAtes as well as another cover of Modern Don Juan an Buddy Holly song as well as the original albums tracks it has live tracks from the TV show Nightmoves as well as live recordings, demos, compilation tracks, the non LP singles and the Rare Game EP. The second album Don't Throw Stones was released in February 1979 which went to number 9 in Australia and from the album it had 3 hit singles Who Listens to the Radio(no 35), the title track Don't throw Stones(no 26) and Suspicious Minds(no 74) as well as the others were mostly written by Stephen Cummings with Andrew Pendlebury and 2 other tracks written by Martin Armiger as he wrote Suspicious Minds and also this album was produced by Pete Solley and also on the remastered album besides from the original 12 tracks it has non album singles, live recordings that has never been released, the OK UK EP and songs that were from the recording sessions in the UK. It is AWESOME, ROCKIN and BRILLIANT with great songs which holds so well to this day and still sounds great as it's enjoyable to listen to. David Laing and Jen Jewel Brown did the liner notes for those 2 albums and warren Barnett and Toby Learmont did the remastering. The Sports was the launching pad for singer Stephen Cummings who has gone to a solo career which he is still recording and touring, Martin Armiger who would go on to become an record producer and a composer and Andrew Pendlebury still plays music as he plays with a group called the Mercurials. These CD's are a must for any Australian music of the 70's as well as fans of the Sports and I am giving these 5 stars which they're in the shops now so do yourself a favour and BUY THEM which you shall enjoy listening to them as it is great to see Australian albums from the past coming out on CD.
