Good Fortune

This afternoon I went to the movies at Dendy Cinema at Coorparoo to see the movie Good Fortune. Arj(Aziz Ansari) who has been an freelance editor as well as working in a hardware store as well as delivering food which he sleeps in his car and he encounters Elena (Keke Palmer) who also works in the hardware store which they have a liking to each other. Arj meets Jeff(Seth Rogen) who is a tech investor which he works for Jeff as his assistant and Arj loses his job after using the company card that was Jeff's as he paid for dinner at a expensive restaurant and he encounters Gabriel (Keanu Reeves) who is a angel who shows Ajr a vision of his future with hope as which he tells Ajr that having money and success like won't fix the problem which Ajr does Jeff's job while Jeff does Ajr's job with Gabriel helping that leads him to lose his wings and then it gets interesing. It is excellent, very funny and very entertaining with great acting by Aziz Ansari, Seth Rogen, Keanu Reeves, Sandra Oh and Keke Palmer and Aziz Ansari who not acted in the movie but directed, writing it and produced it with Alan Yang and Anthony Katagas. I give it 4 stars as it's in the cinemas now so do yourselves an favour and SEE IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

Vale Peter Flanagan(the Fauns/The Flanagans)

Peter Flanagan member of legendary Australian singing family group the Fauns aka the The Flanagans passed away on September 2nd aged 73 at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. Peter along with brother Paul and Sister Margaret began as the Fauns in 1959 as they had been doing classical music training which they released 3 singles on the Leedon label- Dance With Me/Don't Take the Stars, We Should Be Together/While Susan Sleeps and Nursery Rhymes Rock and as the Flanagans they released 4 singles on the HMV label-He/Wonderland Of Love and Dreams(1965), Follow the Wind/Land OF Beyond(1965), You Were Meant FOr Me/That's How Man Began(1966) and This is My Song/For Bobby(1967). the group did appearances on Bandstand,Six O'Clock Rock, Teen Time, The Johnny O'Keefe Show, Sing Sing Sing, the Mike Walsh Show, IMT, Revue 61, Revue 62 and many others as well as performing on the Matt Munro TV special in 1966 as well as performing in the clubs too as well as co writing the song...

 This is the autobiography of Australian Pianist and musician John Charter and in this book he talks about his upbringing in Kingsford (Sydney), started learning piano at age 8, playing in Australia's first rock and roll band Alan Dale and the Houserockers, playing in his own trio, forming Johnny Rebb and The Rebels with Johnny Rebb who would achieve 6 top 40 hits from 1959-60 including Hey Sheriff and Pathway To Paradise, doing the Lee Gordon tours with the Everly brothers, Fabian , The Platters and Johnny Ray, doing Bandstand and Six O'Clock Rock, working with Slim Dusty, playing in the Sydney Club  and hotel Scene , forming his own group The John Charter Group, working in Vietnam and America with Digger Revell and many others.
