Produced By George Martin
Produced By George Martin is the documentary about legendary British record producer Sir George Martin. In this DVD it talks about his childhood in the 30's, his experience during the second world war as an pilot in the Fleet Arm of the Royal navy, being an music student @ the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, joining EMI/Parlophone in 1950 as an assistant to Oscar Preuss before eventually taking over in charge of the label in 1955 and working on comedy records as well as music for children and orchestral stuff. Then in 1962 he signed an young quartet from Liverpool known to be the Beatles and together them and George would forever change pop music as well as revolutionising popular music and recording techniques that forged one of the greatest artist/producer collaborations. it's an EXCELLENT and an BRILLIANT DVD with great stories and interviews which includes his son Giles, surviving BEatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, Cilla Black, Rolf Harris, Jimmy Webb, Michael Palin, Dewey Bunnell(America) and many others as well as extended interviews that were not on the documentary. Jonathan Clyde and Adam Sharp were the executive producers for Grounded Productions and it was filmed, produced and directed by Francis Hanly. It's an must for any Beatles fans as well as fans of popular music and I give this 5 stars which it's in the shops now.
