Let the Music Play is the documentary about the legendary American rock group The Doobie Brothers that is out on DVD. IN this DVD it has interviews with founding members Tom Johnston and Pat Simmonds as well as other key members like Michael MacDonald, Jeff "Skunk" Baxter, John McFee as well as manager Brucew Cohn, record producer Ted Templeman and others and talking about the beginning at the Chateau Liberte in Santa Cruz in 1970, begin recording for Warner Brothers where they would go on to have with successful hit singles like Listen to the music, CHina Grove, Long Train Running, Black Water, Takin It to the Streets etc as well as successful albums, the line up changes over the years,musical direction, the break up in 1982, reforming in 1987 and many others. It's an EXCELLENT and an BRILLIANT DVD with great stories and interviews and the extra stuff on this DVD has 9 songs of the classic hits live. This DVD was produced and directed by Barry Ehrmann who had directed the concert film of the group's 1982 farewell concert, Associate producers are Rachel Benson, Kathy Nelson and Jim Yurich, Supervising producer is Matt Friedman and Mike Carden is the supervising producer. the Doobie Brothers are still going strong after 42 years still touring and recording having sold over 40 million records and this band should be inducted in to the Rock N roll Hall Of Fame. This DVD is an must for any Doobie Brothers fans as well as fans of the 70's music and I am giving this 4 and an half stars which it's in the shops now
