4BC Hoadleys Battle of the Sounds July 1971

This is from the Telegraph July 30th 1971 and 4BC which is now the talk back station which it is the only commercial one here in Brisbane was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the 1970's which they also promoted shows which one of them was the Hoadley's Battle of the Sounds which was connected with Violet Crumble at that time was an big Thing at that time as it was the only way that Australian bands would get out of Australia to take a crack internationally as the main prize was an trip to England as well as every city did Hoadley's including Brisbane with the local bands and the Brisbane one was held at the Festival Hall July 31st 1971 which among the Brisbane bands that performed there were Season Of The Witch, Spike, Rufus, Leroy and Jelly Roll Big Band and also the special guest group were Chain who were riding high with the album Toward The Blues as well as the single Black and Blue.
