Midnight Oil The Hardest Line

This afternoon I went to the Dendy Cinema Coorparoo to see the documentary about the iconic Australian rock band Midnight Oil and it traces back from their start in the 70's, their backgrounds, playing the pub rock scene in Sydney, working in England, acheiving great success with albums like 10,9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 and Red Sails In the Sunset as well as the singles Bed Are Burning and Blue Sky Mine, touring overseas, playing at the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000, their disbandment in 2002, Peter Garrett's political activisim and getting back together in 2016 which would last until 2022 as well as interviews with the band members as well as archival interviews with Bones Hillman who passed away in 2020, Billy Bragg, manager John Watson, Rhoda Roberts, Nick Carroll, Neil Murray, David Atkins, Natasha Stott Despoia, Anthony Albanese and many others. It is AWESOME, FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with FANTASTIC and AWESOME stories talking about the journey from the origins in the 70's to be one of the greatest Australian rock bands who have shaped Australia which it is well worth watching. It was directed by Paul Clarke who also one of the executive producers and did the screenplay and besides from Paul Clarke the other executive producers were Mikael Borglund and Martin Fabinyi with Carolina Sorensen as the producer. Great to see more about documentaries about Australian music acts and may there be more. This is an must for fans of Australian music as well as Midnight Oil fans which I give it 5 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and SEE IT which you will be impressed and amazed. Support Australian cinema.
