Bad Reputation Joan Jett

On May 17th 1980 American rock singer Joan Jett released her 1st solo album called Joan Jett after the break up of her band the Runaways as it was released independently but it was re-released on January 23rd 1981 on the Broadwalk Records after she signed up with them with the name change Bad Reputation which it went to number 51 in the USA, number 76 in Canada and number 45 in Australia and it had the 1 hit single Jezebel with Bad Reputation going to number 48 in the USA Mainstream Rock Airplay charts. It was produced by Kenny Laguna, Ritchie Cordell, Mark Dodson, Steve Jones and Paul Cook (2 ex members of the Sex Pistols) and it is now out on CD again. On the reissued edition it has the original tracks including her version of the Lesley Gore song You Don't Own Me, her version of the Isley Brothers song Shout and her version of the Sam The Sham and the Pharaohs 1965 hit song Wooly Bully and the bonus tracks on the CD includes her version of the Who song Call Me Lightning and the Tommy James and the Shondells song Hanky Panky and an live version of Bad Reputation with the Remains of the Ramones. It is AWESOME and ROCKIN with FANTASTIC and AWESOME songs which holds up very well to this day and it still sounds great today as it did back then. Joan is having surgery at the moment and let's hope she gets back on the road soon. This is an must for Joan Jett fans and I give it 5 stars as it's in the shops now so please do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

Vale Peter Flanagan(the Fauns/The Flanagans)

Peter Flanagan member of legendary Australian singing family group the Fauns aka the The Flanagans passed away on September 2nd aged 73 at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. Peter along with brother Paul and Sister Margaret began as the Fauns in 1959 as they had been doing classical music training which they released 3 singles on the Leedon label- Dance With Me/Don't Take the Stars, We Should Be Together/While Susan Sleeps and Nursery Rhymes Rock and as the Flanagans they released 4 singles on the HMV label-He/Wonderland Of Love and Dreams(1965), Follow the Wind/Land OF Beyond(1965), You Were Meant FOr Me/That's How Man Began(1966) and This is My Song/For Bobby(1967). the group did appearances on Bandstand,Six O'Clock Rock, Teen Time, The Johnny O'Keefe Show, Sing Sing Sing, the Mike Walsh Show, IMT, Revue 61, Revue 62 and many others as well as performing on the Matt Munro TV special in 1966 as well as performing in the clubs too as well as co writing the song...
